About
I am a teacher, librarian, and educational researcher with 18 years of experience teaching media studies, English, and social studies in Europe and North America. I have taught students from elementary through secondary school, including AP Human Geography and AP World History, and have served as a department chair, dean, instructional librarian, and teacher educator. Across these roles, I have remained committed to creating classrooms where students feel valued, develop confidence in their ideas, and learn to approach complex questions with curiosity and care. I am currently a university instructor and PhD candidate in Curriculum Studies at the University of British Columbia, where my research explores education, AI, algorithmic media, and human agency. My scholarship informs my teaching, but my work with students remains at the centre of my practice. I am passionate about helping young people think critically, act ethically, and develop the confidence to shape an increasingly complex world.
